RAMPRanger Academy & Mentor ProgramThe Fullerton Rangers will be offering an exciting opportunity for player development with the Ranger Academy and Mentor Program this Spring. The Rangers want to see players increase their enjoyment of the game by giving them an opportunity to develop their technical skills in the off season. It is our hope that your family will take advantage of this great opportunity and bring your player to the RAMP nights. For more information contact the Director of Training at dir.training@frysc.org. Any player who was previously or is currently registered with the FRYSC is welcome at RAMP. The sessions are held at the Fullerton Sports Complex and are run by our top level trainers at no cost to the family. Week 6 UpdateRAMP concluded last night with over 90 kids participating. The total number of Rangers participating at RAMP this Spring is over 1,000, which is a new record! This series of free soccer training.continues to be a big hit. Week 5 UpdateRAMP was a blast tonight! It was sponsored by the CSUF Women's Soccer Program. All four Division 1 college coaches, three of which are Rangers Staff coaches, and 22 college players participated. The 150 plus kids had a good soccer experience as we were able to keep the small sided games to 4 v 4 or 5 v 5. We continue to have a strong turnout for the six and under age group. We were also able to provide 12 kids goalkeeping training, which was run by CSUF Goalkeeper Coach Brian Mason, a Rangers Staff coach, and two CSUF GKs. I encourage everyone to support CSUF and attend their game tomorrow vs. USC at 11:00 a.m. at Titan Stadium. It is free. Week 4 UpdateWe had a good turnout on Friday with 175 kids participating. We are honored Katie Rumfola (headed to Cal Baptist on a soccer scholarship) with a certificate of achievement and gift cards to Jamba Juice. Katie stayed to work with the U-7s for an hour then coach the U-10 boys in their small sided. She was a big hit with all of the kids! We have three weeks off before the next RAMP on April 23 when CSUF hosts RAMP. Week 3 UpdateWe had over 210 kids at RAMP Week 3. We also honored former Rangers player Cristian Alvarado, he is now in the LA Galaxy Academy. He announced that he signed a full scholarship to LMU! Next week we honor Rangers who will be playing College soccer. We will then take a 3 week break and resume on April 23 with the CSUF staff and players running RAMP. Week 2 UpdateWe went over the 200 player mark again! We now have 415 kids participating over the first two RAMP nights. Again, we continue to do well in the under-6 age group with 60 kids. Tonight featured Jeremy B's Skills Night, which is turning into a big hit. I would also like to thank David D. as he continues to keep large numbers of youngers loving the game. Week 1 UpdateWe have a new record for RAMP! We went over the 200 player mark. That is close to a third of the what we had last year for the entire time (and 2009 was a record year as well). RAMP Is Back !!!RAMP is FREE soccer training offered by the Fullerton Rangers for players and coaches. There are Seven (7) training sessions, which are designed to be fun and engaging. This year promises to be exciting with the return of mini-RAMP (for those 4-6 years old) and Cal State Fullerton Night on April 1st. We are always looking for volunteer coaches to participate and/or learn. This is a great place for coaches to pick up some training ideas for next Fall. In 2010, Ramp beat all records set in 2009 with over 2000 players participating.
