Please remember a simple saying. There will be good and bad in everything in life. The quality of referees are no different. Some are new and some are old. Some are real old too. Please take the time to thank your referee and show the courtesy to respect their calls. The job is much more difficult than you think and requires a large amount of skill, expertise and training to become effective.

It could take many years to gain the confidence to try to work as a lead referee or an assistant, but it only takes one comment to lose a referee for life.

Ask yourself one question before you say or do something. If this was the one thing my child enjoyed doing would I want an adult, coach or spectator to ruin it for them by saying or doing something we know as adults shouldn’t be done?
