In 2004 the Fullerton Rangers began the only mentor program in the state to assist in advancing and educating our referees with more technical skills involved in refereeing soccer. The mentor referees are selected by the Director of Referees and are usually referees with several years of reffing experience. They are used to work one on one with newer referees and are in charge of all matches at the field sites. They have full jurisdiction to work on and off the field to insure tall the laws of the game and codes of conduct are upheld. You will be able to tell whether or not a mentor referee is present at your field sight by looking for the ref. with the blue shirt. Coaches and parents are asked not to question calls made by the referees and are asked to direct their questions to either the mentor or Director of Referees.
